My Journey Into Trauma-Informed Healing
“When you tell the truth, your story changes. When your story changes, your life is transformed.” - Mark Matousek
The Path That Brought Me Here
For more than 25 years, I worked at the intersection of mental health and education, supporting students, families, and staff through grief, trauma, crisis, and the full weight of what it means to be alive. As both an educator and a parent, I developed a deep understanding of adolescence, emotional resilience, and what people need to feel truly seen and supported.
Some of the most formative and demanding years of that work came as a leader at Palo Alto High School, where I guided the community through two suicide clusters. Navigating those crises required not only clinical skill and trauma-informed leadership but also the ability to hold an entire community in its most acute pain while keeping people safe, connected, and moving toward healing.
After experiencing career burnout and chronic PTSD myself, I stepped away from education in 2018 and began a profound personal healing journey. While completing my Doctorate in Leadership for Change, I discovered that intellectual insight alone wasn't enough. Through trauma-informed therapy, somatic healing, deep inner exploration, and ultimately psychedelic-assisted healing, I reconnected with a more authentic and embodied sense of self and found a new direction for my life and work. That experience was transformative in ways I could not have anticipated, and it is a large part of why I now offer this work to others.
That path led me to train at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), where I deepened my capacity to hold space for others through experiential, trauma-informed, and integrative approaches that ask the whole person to show up, not just the mind. My training and personal experience have shaped a particular passion for psychedelic-assisted therapy and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy as profound tools for healing, especially for those who feel stuck, have tried conventional approaches, or are ready to explore a deeper layer of themselves.
Today, I blend somatic therapy, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, relational healing, and integrative psychotherapy to support clients in cultivating clarity, resilience, self-trust, and lasting emotional well-being. Whether you are drawn to psychedelic-assisted work or seeking grounded support for anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, trauma recovery, or personal growth, I meet each person where they are with care, curiosity, and deep respect for their unique path.
Clients often describe my approach as warm, intuitive, compassionate, and collaborative. I strive to create a space where people can safely reconnect with themselves, process past wounds, strengthen relationships, and move toward a life that feels more aligned and meaningful.
Beyond my clinical work, I am a mother, artist, dancer, yoga lover, gardener, and proud dog mom to Bodhi. These parts of my life keep me grounded, creative, and reminded daily of how essential joy, play, and genuine connection are to the healing process.
Stories are constantly changing and evolving, including yours. What's your story? I'm eager to learn about it and look forward to the possibility of supporting you on your own evolving journey.
